The best Fusion of Indo-Oriental Food

Bonsai Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

This restaurant has the best fusion of Indo-Oriental Food by far. I am talking about Bonsai which is in Kondapur. They have made creative dishes with the fusion of both varieties and they have made mind blowing results. At the start you are welcomed with a bowl of fresh watermelons.
We then moved on to the Ginger Fish. Although Ginger Fish is a typical oriental cuisine, this had hints of the home made Indian fish curry as well.
Post this we had the Stuffed Grilled mushrooms. They were stuffed heavily with sauce, cream and mashed vegetables.
Next in line was the Jumbo Prawns in Chilli Oyster Sauce. I initially thought I would have to use my hands to eat them. But they were so well done that I could easily complete an entire prawn without getting my hands dirty.
We then tried the Paneer Mirza Tikka. The Paneer was really soft and melted in the mouth. Mr. Ashish, the owner of this place also let us know the secret behind this. Apparently the Paneer is created from scratch inhouse and that's why it remains so fresh and soft.
Next up was the Murgh Lazzaro. This dish is a typical Lucknowi dish that was prepared with a twist. The result was awesome chicken.
The next was the stuffed crabs. I absolutely love crabs and was super excited when this dish came in. Hats off to them for making the crab so easy to eat. They just scooped everything out of the crab, mixed the crab meat with spices and then stuffed them back into the crab. As a result we just had to use spoons to scoop up the tasty meat.
Next up was the Chicken in Black Bean Sauce. The chicken was succulent and juicy and the black bean sauce added to the flavor.
The next dish was the Mushroom Rekak. Button mushrooms were split and stuffed inside post which they were fried. This was slightly on the blland side but great in flavors.
Next up was the Mutton Kakori Kebab. This dish was originated by the Nawabs of Awadh. The mutton kebab has a stuffing on khoya inside it.
Next was the baked broccoli. This was baked really well with a lot of cheese. If you don't like broccoli even then you will like this dish.
The next dish was the Red Snapper in Vindaloo Sauce. This is a typical Goan dish. The Fish was fresh and as Mr. Ashish mentioned got from the Chilika Lake in Odisha. The Vindaloo sauce was perfect as well.
The next one was the Aftab Murgh. This was also a very soft and tender chicken kebab.
The next dish was the chilly egg. This preparation was really delicious and unique than the other versions of the dish that I have tried.
Then we got the naans as well. We started off with the Angrezi Naan. This has a thin layer of stuffed cheese which was again an innovation to fuse it and get creative.
The next one was the Kashmiri Naan. This was orange in color. I could eat it even without any curry. This had a mild sweet flavor and was embedded with fruits such as apples etc. typical to Kashmiri dishes.
For dessert we had authentic sweets from here - the white cham cham, raspberry sandwich and malai sandwich.
Overall: This place has an amazing and delicious spread and is a must visit.

  1. Snapper fishes are generally not available in Chilika..You got it wrong. The fish in the pic. looks like Bhetki, Indian sea bass, not a snapper.

  2. The pulverization of these villi, which are the absorptive surfaces of the small digestive system, in the long run create malabsorption of supplements and a large group of co-morbidities. Indeed, even the littlest hint of gluten can trigger these occasions. carmelitas restaurant alamo tx
