Fat Pigeon - Bar Hop in Jubilee Hills

Fat Pigeon - Bar Hop Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato
Fat Pigeon which is located in Jubilee Hills has an amazing roof top ambiance. You can also choose to be at the var and watch your favorite match along with drinks and food. This place also has valet parking but if you have a two wheeler then you will have to park on the main road. They also have a lot of games that you can play and have fun while chilling with your friends.
A must try here is the cheesy onion rings. They are crispy on the outside and cheese oozes out once you take a bite.
The Chicken tikka is well made and is one of the best starters to order while having a drink.
The Classic Margherita, true to its name has perfect balance of tomatoes with wholesome amount of cheese on a thin crust.
The Prawn Bhuna Masala is mildly spiced and made with fresh prawns whose flavor is mouth watering.
In the main course, the paneer butter masala is done well and a must have.
Among the non vegetarian main courses, you can try the Kadai Murg. This is slightly spicy and made with capsicum and onions.
Overall: A fun place to hang out and play games while enjoying good food and drinks.

New Place Alert - Glocal in Kondapur

Glocal Junction Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato
Glocal was one of the popular eat outs in Jubilee Hills but it closed out and reopened in Kondapur. They officially launched on 21st November and we decided to visit the place.
We started off by ordering the Tokri Chaat. This was really good and was topped with Pomegranate and Alu Bhujia.
After that we had the Hell's Pizza which was thin crust and had toppings of capsicum, tomato and chicken.
The Chilly Paneer was served in an edible bowl but this really wasn't good in taste or flavor.
The first cocktail that we tried out was the Basil and Watermelon Smash - the base was vodka with fresh watermelon juice and basil with a twist of black pepper.
The next dish was the Buffalo Chicken Wings which was garnished with garlic and served with bread.
The Chilly Chicken Pizza was really great. It was a thin crust pizza, and the fusion of Chinese and Italian went along really well.
The next cocktail was Keep Me Warm - this was a spiced Indian drink with brandy and apple served warm.
The Gongura Kodi Risotto was another creative fusion dish although the flavors did not go well and it felt like the dish was over cooked.
The Grilled Barbecue Veggies went well with the noodles that were served along with it.
Our next drink was the Infused jar which had apple cinnamon cherry infused vodka and apple juice.
The next drink was the Black Magic which was presented really well with a skull shaped jar. This consisted of whisky, bitters and smoky orange marmalade.
Among the mocktails, the Oreo shake was really good.
They also had a cocktail called the Thaili which was served literally in a Thaili - this was a vodka based cocktail.
The pineapple, jalapeno salsa was a cocktail with chunks of pineapple and jalapeno mixed with quite a lot of crushed ice.
The Coorg Style Chicken Dry Fry was similar to that of the Chennai Chicken 65.
The dynamite chicken had a mix of herbs with a succulent center.
Overall: Great place to hang out on weekends with great food.

Shanghai Chef - Your Go To Place for Oriental Classics

Shanghai Chef 2 Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato
Shanghai Chef has been one of the oldest restaurants that have been present in Gachibowli for almost a decade. I absolutely love Chinese food and hence had to try out this place. The ambiance is nice and warm with Oriental music playing in the background. We started off by ordering the mock-tails.
The first drink was Fall in Love. This consists of strawberry and litchi crush and a dash of lime with sugar syrup and is served chilled.
The next drink was the Alphonza. This had a combination of mango and orange juice along with ice-cream.
We then tried the chocolate rush. This drink had a mix of pineapple juice and chocolate syrup with ice cream.
Then we tried the Grasshopper. This drink has Khush syrup, litchi crush, a dash of lime and was topped up with 7up.
We had also ordered the Litchi Punch. This was a combination of pineapple juice, litchi crush and a scoop of ice-cream.
Then we started off with the soup. We chose the Tom Kha Kung/Gai. One came with chicken while the other had prawns. This was a Thai soup that was primarily cooked in rich coconut milk. I must say this was really good with the perfect amount of spices blended well with the coconut milk flavor.
The first started that we ordered was the Honey Crispy Chicken. The chicken was tender inside and crispy on the outside and presented really well.
We then had the Shu Mai. The Shu Mai is basically steamed open dumplings that are stuffed with minced chicken and served with homemade red chilly sauce.
The next dish was the Eggs Exotica which was prepared with boiled eggs tossed in oriental spices.
The next dish was the roasted Chilly Lamb. The Lamb was prepared really well and the sauces added to the flavor of the dish.
We then had the Stuffed Bell Peppers in Supo Sauce which is primarily an Indonesian sauce.
We then had the dragon prawn. The prawns were fresh and cooked perfectly with cashew nuts.
In the main course we ordered the Phad Thai Phak which is spicy Thai basil flavored fried rice.
We then tried the Mee Goreng which is Spicy Malaysian soft noodles sautéed with vegetables and meat.
To go with the rice we ordered Burnt Garlic Chicken. This dish had sliced chicken cooked in burnt garlic sauce.
Now it was desert time. The first desert that we ordered was Kluay Tod or Banana Toffee. The banana was soft inside but crisp and caramelized on the surface and tasted absolutely marvelous with the combination of sesame seeds.
We then had Daarsan with ice-cream. The Daarsan was crispy fried and well done.
The final dish was the Fried ice-cream. This was one of the best Fried ice-creams that I have had with a very thin layer of coating and was coconut flavored. Overall: This is a must visit if you want to enjoy authentic Oriental Cuisine.

Le Vantage Cafe Bar

Le Vantage Cafe Bar Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato
Le Vantage Cafe Bar is one of the new places that has opened up in Jubilee Hills. We had gone there for a Book Club session and thought of exploring the cafe as well. Although the place is really pretty it is too loud. Music plays the whole time throughout the inside and outside seating area. We started off by ordering the Cappuccino which was good.
We ordered the Pizza Meat Lovers which had diced grill chicken, chicken salami, bacon, mozzarella cheese and English cheddar with BBQ sauce. This was a thin crust pizza. The base though was hard. Also the bacon was hardly there and only a few slices has tiny bits of it.
We then ordered the Beer drunk Steak with Blue Cheese Burger. The burger was really disappointing. The Beef was so chewy that taking a bite was a pain and would get super messy. When we asked them about the patty they just said that that is how the burger is and that they would get us a different burger instead.
So post that they got us the Lamb Burger. This burger has lamb patty, tomato, sautéed onion, romaine lettuce and cheese slice with chilly mayo. Although the burger was much better than the previous one, the patty wasn't cooked well enough.
Overall: This place could definitely improve the quality of food. Compared to the neighboring places this place doesn't stand a chance with the food that they are serving.

Chaitanya - The Family Dine at Kondapur

Chaitanya's Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato
Chaitanya - The Family Dine is located on the first floor of Ratnadeep at Kondapur, incase you aren't able to spot it. We went there for dinner on a Saturday evening. They have both buffet options as well as a-la-carte on their menu. Once we were seated we were offered the welcome drinks. The first one was a milk based strawberry drink.
The next welcome drink was a strawberry based cocktail. I preferred the former to the latter.
We also ordered Smirnoff with Orange Juice.
The first started for the day was Crispy Corn which was made well.
The next was the Kurkure Cheese Roll. This was a new item that they are yet to introduce. The outer coating was crispy while inside it was cheesy which made this dish very flavorful.
Next up was the Fish Fry. The portions were decent and there were not too many spices which enhanced the flavor of the fish.
We also ordered another mocktail in the meanwhile.
I also ordered the Monster - while is a vodka, strawberry and lemon based cocktail. This is also mildly spicy and comes with a green chilli.
They also have a special cocktail - called Golden Hue due to the color of the drink - it is a beer based cocktail.
The next started was the spicy chicken wings. They had the perfect amount of spices and tasted absolutely finger licking good.
The next item was the Patiala tangri kebab stuffed with Keema. Although I have had many variants of Tangri Kebab this was the first time I had it with the stuffing and the keema really went well with the Tangri kebab.
The next dish was the Chef's Chinese Paneer. The coating was crispy while the paneer inside was soft. The spices were similar to that of the Spicy chicken wings.
We then started off with the main course. The first dish was the Mutton Roganjosh.
Next up was the Methi Murg. The chicken was soft and the methi was blended with the curry really well.
We then tried the Veg Chatpata which was similar to a homemade vegetable curry.
The Dal Makhani was then served in a cute steel balti. This was one of the best Dal Makhanis that I have ever had - with the perfect amount of spices and butter while the Dal was cooked amazingly well.
Now it was time for the Biryanis. The first one was Chaitanya special Lollipop biryani. The Lollipops were really spicy but if you mixed the masala with their mild Biryani then it had a great taste.
The next one was the Minister Biryani that came wrapped in a thin egg omlette and garnished with cashews and crispy fried onions.
The final Biryani was the Mutton Pot Biryani. Although the Biryani was mildly spiced the mutton was really soft and good to taste.
We also ordered a vodka and tequila based cocktail that was lighted up with fire when served.
We also ordered the fire shot which you had to gulp down in one go while the fire still burnt.
We then tasted their sambar rice. This was again one of the best sambar rices I have ever had and was filled with ghee and cashews.
The curd rice was the palate cleanser and garnished really well with bananas, pomegranate and fruits.
Now that we had a hearty meal, it was time for desserts. The first dessert was the Dry Fruit pudding.
We finished it off with the Golden Kheer which was really good, we were told it apparently was prepared with onions.
Overall: This place has an amazing range of cuisines - from Chinese to Indian food. The quality of the food is really great and you have the option to choose between a-la-carte and buffet. So definitely a must visit.
